Blackpool Football Club introduce E-Commerce ticketing software

Blackpool Football Club has become the latest sports venue to end their association with e-mail ticket purchase systems, by making the web work for them using an integrated box office and Internet ticketing solution.

Seatbooker, who provide an integrated ticket office system and retail merchandising solution to The Seasiders, have now extended the club’s range of IT applications by introducing a real-time Internet and box office ticketing system.

The system allows Blackpool to make their tickets widely available to customers without the operational and cost implications of manually outsourcing ticket sales. Using Seatbooker, the club maximises revenue opportunities and consumer convenience.

  • Ticket availability is now provided from a single database of tickets
  • The club sells simultaneously from the Internet, by phone and at the ground

Karl Oyston, Chairman of Blackpool, said “We can now offer our fans a vastly superior service. The previous method of selling tickets over the internet using e-mail involved manually selling and processing tickets off-line. We now allow our fans to choose their exact seat and pay for it securely online. What’s more is that all of this is managed without our operators re-entering and manually processing Internet sales data. This saves the club time, money and improves our service, while we build a consolidated customer database."

Blackpool Football Club became a Seatbooker customer when their existing ticketing software let them down badly. This was then extended to include point of sale management in their retail shop.

Seatbooker ticketing software is controlled from one set of event management tools which automatically governs the secure release and sale of tickets on the Internet. In addition to the event management software, Seatbooker ticketing has a comprehensive range of reporting tools for sales analysis and customer profiling.

Seatbooker provide their e-commerce services as an integral part of their Managed Service, where clients rent hardware, software and other services, with Seatbooker providing all the processing, support and backup facilities. Other users of integrated ticketing systems include clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur FC and Middlesbrough Football Club.
