Tottenham Hotspur have set new standards of customer service by selling 1,000 tickets an hour on the Internet
Tottenham Hotspur the Premier League Football Club sold £96,000 of Internet Tickets in 4 hours for their forthcoming fixture against Liverpool Football Club. The integrated box office and Internet ticketing solution developed by Seatbooker enables Tottenham to sell tickets using a range of different sales outlets simultaneously but all from a single inventory of available tickets.
Tottenham’s ticket office manager, Karen Murphy said that the Internet “... doubled our ticket office capacity without increasing our operational costs. We sold out within four hours with the Internet accounting for more than half of the ticket sales. Having seen a recent industry publication stating that another premier league venue was impressed with selling 250 tickets online for the same fixture, we are ecstatic with the 2,100 Internet tickets sold through our system in just half a day."
The online ticketing system ensures Spurs have:
- Complete control over the release of tickets and to whom they are available
- A single set of administration tools for both the box-office and the Internet
- Complete control over when fixtures are made available
Spurs also are able to limit sales to members and season ticket holders for the high demand games, although others can still see which seats are available. This prevents the common need of outsourcing peak demands to traditional ticketing agencies where the full benefits of e-commerce are lost and the customer identification opportunities forfeited.
Seatbooker provide their e-commerce services as an integral part of their Managed Service, where clients rent hardware, software and other services, with Seatbooker providing all the processing, support and backup facilities. Other users of the integrated ticketing systems include clubs such as NEC Harlequins Rugby Club and some not so big, such as Southend United Football Club.
