Burnley Football Club, "Clarets", put tickets for sale online
Burnley Football Club has become the most recent sports venue to sell tickets on the Internet using the very latest Internet ticketing software. Seatbooker has designed, implemented and launched the system in partnership with Burnley, who now allow their fans to choose their preferred seat and pay for the ticket on-line.
Graham Raven, Clarets Ticket Office Manager said, “Seatbooker have clearly given careful thought to the specific concerns of selling football tickets online. From the moment an individual interacts with the service, we create a database record and then build a history of that person during the sales process. At any moment, we know the details of every person who has tickets for a particular match and precisely which seats they have purchased”.
Burnley's Seatbooker Internet is unique in many respects, including:
- The system deals with crowd segregation
- Customer registration, e-mail and SMS confirmation is fully automatic
- It works seamlessly with existing ticket office software
- There is no need for re-keying of data and extensive manual reconciliation
- The tickets, mailing labels and receipts are printed at the ground
- The common need to reconcile sales related data off-line is removed.
Using simple graphics of the Turf Moor stadium, the home of Burnley FC, prospective ticket purchasers simply select the stand where they wish to be located, choose the required block within that stand and finally, choose their own seat or group of seats from all those available. This allows the fan to know exactly where they will be seated on match day. Ticket availability is completely dictated by the venue manager who controls exactly when a match is made available, who is eligible to purchase, at what price and for which seats.
