An online ticketing system in twenty four hours

Blackpool had a problem.

  • Their online ticketing system had been down for three days
  • They had a cup game coming up on the Saturday
  • It had to be all advance ticket sales

They were up the creek, without a paddle. Or so they thought.

After several telephone discussions with Seatbooker, the innovative supplier of online ticketing systems, they placed an order at 4:00pm on Wednesday afternoon. Could anyone get a system configured, the seating plan set-up and the staff trained in 24 hours? That was exactly what Andy Morley of Blackpool wondered.

By 3:30pm the following day, they were selling tickets live on the Seatbooker Managed Service. The game went ahead as planned and the team went on to finally win promotion at the end of the season. So pleased were the club, they wrote to other clubs in the same league telling them the story.

A representative of Seatbooker said "There is a simple moral here. When choosing a mission critical system, it's not only the software that counts. It's the commitment and level of support that the supplier will put into making your system work when you need it, that is crucial to the systems success".
