Southend United chooses Seatbooker

Southend United Football Club now has the ability to impress its fans, not only on the pitch but also outside the ground. By introducing a new ticketing system from Seatbooker, the club continues its policy of investment in the infrastructure of the business.

The innovative and well proven ticketing software will be installed and operational by mid March. It enables Southend United to build a consolidated database of all customers and improve its service to regular supporters.

The Ticketing Managed Service supplied allows the club to close their ticket office at slack times and still sell tickets online from their retail store. This flexibility also allows them to speed the sale of tickets just before kick-off on match days if there are queues.

The contract is expected to grow and make full use of the suite of Seatbooker products by integrating new technology as Southend United moves to a new stadium. This will allow the club to offer an integrated turnstile and smartcard system linked directly in real time to the online ticketing database.

Ronald Martin, Chief Executive of Southend United said, "We evaluated the market for ticketing systems in football. Seatbooker's experience and proven reliability in the provision of software to the sports industry was key to the decision. We need to give something back to the supporters and integrating retail, mail order, loyalty and smartcards while building a single marketing database enables us to do that."
