Coventry SkyDome ticketing software works for call centre and the Internet
Coventry's SkyDome Arena is gearing up for the launch of its major concert and sports program after confirming ticketing software arrangements with one of the country's leading service organisations. The new 4,000-seat Arena, which has already hosted international boxing and basketball, has announced that Seatbooker will be handling the booking and sales of their tickets.
The UK-based ticketing software and services specialists were chosen after impressing SkyDome Arena manager Simon Burnett, with systems already in operation at Tottenham Hotspur, Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough football clubs.
He said: "Seatbooker will be responsible for operating an e-commerce system on the Internet, a call centre for telephone ticket sales as well as creating sales facilities in our own box office and several other venues."
"This deal will take any inconvenience out of purchasing tickets for our customers because there will always be several options and later in the year, we will be able to sell via WAP mobile phones.
Since opening, the Arena has attracted a great deal of interest from top names in the sporting and musical worlds and there are going to be some major events here.
"The ticket sales and distribution system was something we needed to get into place so that people could easily purchase SkyDome seats - we are confident that Seatbooker will make that happen."
Capturing the ticket deal for the Arena is yet another feather in the cap of Seatbooker which has clients in a variety of different areas including rugby, football and ice hockey.
Both Seatbooker and the SykDome team believe that the deal is a major coup for both parties. He said, "Its always gratifying when we beat the major players. SkyDome was won as on the basis of the flexibility and potential of the system. The fact that we will supply all the hardware, software, training and maintenance eliminates any capital spend, making the decision easy for many types of venue".
